POLICE BRIEFS: Blossom man faces drug charges after traffic stop

At 11:07 p.m. Monday, Paris police stopped a vehicle in the 2300 block of College Street for a traffic violation. Police believed the driver was attempting to conceal an open alcoholic beverage bottle. During a search of the vehicle, officers found suspected cocaine, suspected methamphetamine and suspected THC. The driver, Stoney Lynn Wilkins, of Blossom, was arrested and charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Wilkins was booked and placed in the city jail and is awaiting transfer to the Lamar County Jail. Calls for service: Paris police responded to 91 calls for service and arrested five people Monday.

Elkton man facing child porn charges after raid

ELKTON — A man is facing 12 child pornography charges after investigators raided his Elkton residence on Monday morning, ending a six-month-long investigation, according to the Maryland State Police. Investigators identified the suspect as 27-year-old William Burroughs, who is charged with six counts each of distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography, police reported. MSP investigators conducted a court-approved search of Burroughs’ residence shortly before 7 a.m. Monday, after developing him as a suspect, and they arrested him there during that raid, police said. FBI Maryland Child Exploitation Task Force agents and Elkton Police Department officers assisted MSP detectives during the court-approved search, police added.
